IKEBANA – An Exploration of Japanese Floral Art 2009.11.23-2010.01.17

Flower arrangement began in Japan as a form of offering to Buddha, then with the introduction of the shoin style of architecture during the Muromachi period (1336 to 1573), it was used to decorate the rooms and the tearoom for the tea ceremony, the various styles being grouped together under the name “ikebana”.
