Recommendation of the house:

  • Irish pub stew pie

Reviews from customers:

  • An Irish pub five minutes away from Yotsuya and Kojimachi stations. Happy hour until 7pm, during which Guinness is available for 900yen. Darts and a big screen for sports games!
  • One of this Irish pub’s strong points isn’t great prices. However, they have a great selection of beer both bottled and on tap. Among those on tap are Sapporo, Guinness, Kilkenny and Hoegarten. During Happy Hour, which is until 7, all drinks are 100 yen less. The beer comes in sizes of 1/2 pint, 3/4 pint and 1 pint. The atmosphere is definitely irishesque, with wood paneling and even soccer playing on a big screen tv. Good place to get a good quality beer, but not a good place to stay for a while as it will punt a dent in your wallet.
  • This was a nice place to go for happy hour. I went on a Monday afternoon, so it was pretty empty, which was kind of nice. I got a nice cocktail (Malibu Pineapple) with a piping hot order of fries for around 900Yen. The fries were obviously freshly made and were absolutely delicious. I liked the atmosphere–it was really laid back. They had a soccer game playing in the background (and for true sports fans, a schedule of the Japan World Cup qualifying matches) and they had a couple of dartboards. Definitely a place to return to.

Recommendations of the house:

  • Huge collection of imported bottled beer!
  • Irish pub with a traditional home made taste!
  • Live music! Sport matches!

Reviews from customers:

  • I give this 4/5 for a place to drink and dance on a fri or sat night.  They have live bands here, which vary but are mostly rock, alternative, or irish jigs.  This place usually gets crowded, and a bit rowdy with drunk 25 – 30 year olds.  Nice little dance floor in front of the band that usually gets filled.
  • Failte’s is easily one of my favourite pubs.  The atmosphere is great on weekends and the staff is friendly.  On Friday and Saturday nights (and sometimes on Thursdays, I believe) they have live bands; the music’s always great and the drunkies end up on the dance floor (guilty!).  On Sundays they have karaoke, which is pretty fun too!!
  • Failte’s is a great place to have a drunk old time. Saturdays are always insane at this place, so make sure you try to get out a little early if you want a seat.

Reviews from the customers:

–   The atmosphere at Billy Barew’s is quite friendly, with the bar staff staff mostly all speaking English and many of the customers being regulars. Over 10 years the bar has been going apparently, which made me think “Why didn’t I know about this bar before?”.
–   The bottle menu at BBBB runs to five pages, boasting around 100 bottles. It’s pretty much limited to the large importers – there’s no Japanese craft beer there and no bottles from Nagano Trading or Rogue – but they do have some gems such as Pilsner Urquell, Brooklyn Beer, and Red Hook ESB, as well as Anchor Steam, a number of Samuel Smiths, and a fair few Belgians.
–   The staff were great, very chummy but also very professional and quick. I asked the bar tender if they had any IPA’s to which he responded he had never heard of the style, but asked me which were my favorites and what Iiked about them!
–   Atmosphere is western, but nice whatever your tastes I think. The service was great, with the waitress being fairly knowledgable about the selection. The beers came in the correct glasses quite quickly. Food was ok by Japanese standards, quite good by US standards.
