CP+2012: Camera & Photo Show in Yokohama

The Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA) has announced it will hold CP+ 2012 Camera & Imaging Show, from February 9 (Thursday) to 12 (Sunday), 2012, at the Pacifico Yokohama, Japan. It’s the largest camera event in Japan.

This year marks the third year since the venue moved to Yokohama. It also marks the 150th anniversary of Yokohama as the birthplace of commercial photography in Japan, where in 1862 Renjo Shimooka founded a photography studio.

CP+2012 is a great opportunity for photographers and enthusiasts to see the latest releases from the major camera manufacturers (Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Sony, Panasonic, Ricoh, FujiFilm etc.) and learn photography techniques from world renowned professionals, like Elliot Erwitt from Magnun Photos.

There will also be a seminar on SLR video technology and its growing presence in commercial films and motion pictures, as well as other events related to the history and trends of photography. By exposing visitors to the fun of “shooting, viewing and linking”, CP+ 2012 plans to deliver four days packed with product and photo exhibits and events that fully demonstrate the power of photography.

Admission fee is 1,000 yen, but if you register on the website in advance, it is FREE!
