ブラジル音楽の歴史を詩と音楽という視点から紐解くドキュメンタリー。
ポルトガル詩人の作品からラップ歌手の言葉、カーニヴァルやファヴェーラで生まれた歌詞からボサノヴァの名曲まで、シコ・ブアルキ、アドリアーナ･カルカニョット、アルナルド･アントゥーネスといった著名アーティストたちがポルトガル語の優美な響きとメロディーにのせて奥深いブラジル音楽の世界へと誘う。

“Palavra (En)cantada” é um documentário cuja  premissa é simples: a relação entre poesia e música na canção brasileira. Dos poetas provençais ao rap, do carnaval de rua aos poetas do morro, da bossa nova ao tropicalismo, Palavra (En)cantada retrata a música brasileira até os dias de hoje, incluindo depoimentos de grandes nomes da nossa cultura, performances musicais e surpreendente pesquisa de imagens.

The documentary is a cross-generational portrait of three characters from the streets of Brazil whose lives revolve around football. Loaded with multi-faceted interviews with people such as ex-football players of the Brazilian golden era Sócrates, Pepe, Lima, Coutinho etc., as well as anthropologist Roberto DaMatta, musician Osvaldinho Da Cuíca and journalist Armando Nogueira, the documentary reveals and dissects the secret of Brazilian football. At its core, it is about Brazilian love and passion, towards football and towards life.

世代、人種も異なるがサッカーがなくては生きていけない魅力的な３人のブラジル人の日常を綴る。サッカーだけではなく、ブラジル人の喜びそして情熱を描くドキュメンタリー。
明日のスタープレイヤーを夢見る子供達、ペレを支えた黄金時代のプレイヤーたち（ペペ、リマ、コウチーニョなど）、人類学者ホベルト・ダマッタ、音楽家オズヴァルジーニョ・ダ・クイッカ、スポーツジャーナリストの重鎮、アルマンド・ノゲイラをはじめとする様々な人たちのインタビューを織りなし、サンバのリズムを通してブラジルのサッカーの真実に迫る。

Com o intuito de revelar a paixão do brasileiro pelo esporte, o filme acompanha alguns personagens brasileiros e sua relação com o futebol; inclui entrevistas com torcedores, além da participação de jogadores como Sócrates, Pepe, Lima, Coutinho, do músico Osvaldinho da Cuíca, do jornalista Armando Nogueira e do antropólogo Roberto DaMatta.

FCB2010: O CONTADOR de Histórias 僕のことを話そう • The Story of Me

ホベルトは児童施設を逃げ出しては盗みを重ね、施設職員からは「更生不可能」とされる問題児。ある日、フランス人の教育学者で研究のためブラジルに滞在しているマルグリットと出会う。マルグリットはホベルトに“施設に連れ戻さないかわりに自分と生活しながらホベルト自身について話す”という交換条件を持ちかける。読み書きを教え、彼の成長をテープレコーダーで録音するマルグリットに対し最初は頑なだったホベルトも徐々に心を開いていく。教育学者でもあり、ブラジル有数のストーリーテラーとして活躍するホベルト･カルロス･ラモスの半生を元にした感動の実話。

Caçula entre dez irmãos, Roberto demonstra um talento especial para contar histórias, transformando suas próprias experiências de frustração em fábulas cativantes. Aos 6 anos, a mãe resolve colocá-lo numa entidade assistencial recém criada pelo governo, pois assim, ela acreditava estar garantindo um futuro melhor para seu filho. Entretanto, a  realidade na instituição era bem diferente do que se promovia e Roberto, aos poucos, perde a esperança. Aos treze anos, após incontáveis fugas, considerado irrecuperável pela própria diretora da entidade, ele recebe a visita de uma pedagoga francesa que transforma completamente sua vida.

The youngest of 10 brothers, Roberto showed a special talent to tell stories, through his own experiences about frustration transforming them into beautiful and touching fables. At age 6, the boy filled with imagination goes to live in a newly opened government institution, which main goal is to help young and poor children. His mother takes him there believing it will guarantee a better future for her child. But the reality of the institution is very different from what was advertised on TV. Roberto, little by little, loses hope. At age 13, after hundreds of escapes, he is considered “irrecoverable”, in the words of the headmaster of the facility. However, Roberto proves to be a challenge to the French pedagogue who comes to Brazil to work on a research. This encounter changes his life completely.

FCB2010: MUTUM ムトゥン ～ 今を生きる • Mutum

チアゴはミナス･ジェライス州の田舎町ムトゥンで暮らす10歳の少年。優しい母と大好きな叔父、唯一の遊び相手でもある弟妹たちとの暮らし。そして不器用で乱暴な父への思い。無垢な少年が見た裏切りと暴力に満ちた大人の世界とは―。かけがえのない人たちとの離別と新たな出会いをチアゴの視点を通して描く。タイトルのムトゥンとは町の名前であり、「唖」や「黒い鳥」を意味し、ブラジル文学界の巨匠、ギマラインス･ホーザの小説『CampoGeral』が原作。子役のリアルな演技と乾ききったブラジルの土地に立っているかのような錯覚を覚える風景描写が世界中の映画祭で絶賛された。

Mutum quer dizer mudo. Mutum é uma ave negra que só canta à noite. E é também o nome de um lugar isolado no sertão de Minas Gerais, onde vivem Thiago e sua família. Thiago tem dez anos e é um menino diferente dos outros. É através do seu olhar que enxergamos o mundo nebuloso dos adultos, com suas traições, violências e silêncios. Ao lado de Felipe, seu irmão e único amigo, Thiago terá que enfrentar o mundo, descobrindo-o ao mesmo tempo em que terá de aprender a deixá-lo. Mutum foi inspirado na história de Miguilim da novela “Campo Geral” (Manuelzão e Miguilim), de João Guimarães Rosa (1908 – 1967), considerado um dos grandes escritores brasileiros.

Mutum means mute. Mutum is a black bird that sings at night. It’s also the name of a remote place in the Brazilian hinterland, where Thiago lives with his family. 10-year-old Thiago is different from the other kids. It is through his eyes that we see the hazy world of adulthood – a world of betrayal, violence and silence. With his brother and only friend Felipe, Thiago has to face up to a world he will eventually learn to leave…
Mutum is based on the novel “Campo Geral” by João Guimarães Rosa (1908-1967), one of Brazil’s greatest writers.
